Following a change to how the city collects taxes on alcoholic beverages purchased at liquor stores and other packaged goods licensees, Chicago reported a more than $4 million drop in the amount of liquor tax revenue remitted by businesses through July.

The Chicago Plan Commission on Thursday will consider plans for the redevelopment of the site of the shuttered Ford City Mall, a mixed-use development near Rate Field and a downtown condominium building.
