The mayor and allies held a lakefront rally on the Far North Side Sunday to urge support for a proposed overhaul of the city’s rental housing code that has sat in the City Council’s housing committee for almost two months.

The rally kicked off an expected canvassing effort to build grassroots support for the housing proposal.
