Nine of the 12 members of the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability (CGFA) failed to attend Friday’s hearing to vote on a recommendation to the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) plan to demolish and rebuild the Stateville and Logan prisons. 

Though no formal recommendations have been made by state legislators charged with reviewing state facility closures, those who did participate in hearings offered specific steps IDOC should take as they consider their options for the prisons.
