Ald. Julia Ramirez (12) said on Facebook "Update on Damen Grain Silos: My office has been informed by the Department of Buildings that this week, the Heneghan Wrecking company will be doing routine maintenance on the crane they have on site at 2900 S Damen Ave. Please know the demolition permits have NOT yet been issued. I have asked city officials to delay the review of these permits while my office and community stakeholders discuss the preservation and repurposing of the silos with the current property owner ... As part of the maintenance process, the crane may move around on the ground for the tracks and the crane boom may move vertically and horizontally for the hydraulic components and cables. Heneghan Wrecking company anticipates that this process will need to be repeated while the crane is on site."
Ald. Felix Cardona, Jr. (31) said on Facebook "Let us take time today to remember and pray for those who were lost and the families who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. Although we will never forget, we can continue to hope and work toward a better tomorrow."
Ald. Matt Martin (47) said on Facebook "I had a wonderful time at Oktoberfest during our Senior Luncheon! Thank you to the Boys and Girls Club for volunteering and German Day Chicago for hosting "
