Ward Reports November 02, 2023
Ald. Rossana Rodriguez-Sanchez (33) posted "Today I introduced a resolution to call on President Biden to work for a #ceasefire in Gaza and to advance peace and @RaymondALopez sent it to rules. I don’t even know what to say. How can someone run for Congress to rep Chicago & be opposed to working for peace? Go figure"
Ald. Daniel La Spata (1) posted "Such a pitiful scarcity mindset in the City Council. Well played capitalism, well played."
Ald. Julia Ramirez (12) posted "Day of the Dead, known as "Día de los Muertos" in Spanish, is a traditional Mexican holiday celebrated on November 1st and 2nd. It is a time for people to honor and remember deceased loved ones."
Ald. Peter Chico (10) said on Facebook "What a wonderful turnout at the Annual East Side Trunk or Treat!! The weather was better than anticipated, and the community really showed their presence from all over our ward. Everyone enjoyed themselves from the many activities, food vendors and of course treats! We thank all who helped put this event together and participated with their trunks. We hope to see you all next year!"
Ald. Desmon Yancy (5) said on Facebook "Had a wonderful time yesterday with the ColloBOOration Team yesterday along 53rd street. Children, teens, and their parents enjoying themselves along the corridor that makes Hyde Park one of the best neighborhoods in the world. Thank you to Bennie Currie and his team, Rod Sawyer and the SECC, all the volunteers who made yesterday successful, and 2nd District CPD officers who made sure our young people could trick or treat safely.
