Ald. Julia Ramirez (12) posted "This afternoon my office hosted an event at 36th St & Western Blvd to unveil the honorary street designation of “Eric S. Hernandez Blvd.” Eric was a McKinley Park resident who’s life was tragically cut short after he was struck be a car while crossing this intersection last year. My office has since been working to ensure that much needed pedestrian and traffic safety measures are implemented by the Chicago Department of Transportation so that tragedies like this never happen again. I would like to thank Eric’s family and the community for coming out to support and for advocating for these changes"
