Ward Reports January 28, 2025
President Toni Preckwinkle posted "Happy Lunar New Year! I always enjoy the County’s annual celebrations—many thanks to everyone who was able to join us this afternoon. May we all have a prosperous Year of the Snake!"
Ald. Debra Silverstein (50) posted "Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. The Holocaust was one of the greatest evils of all time and saw the murder of 6 million Jewish men, women, and children—alongside millions of other people targeted for their race, beliefs, disabilities, or identity. As the only Jewish member of the Chicago City Council, I felt it was my duty to acknowledge this important date at City Hall and take a public stand against antisemitism. Never Again will we stand quietly while hatred and ignorance spread. We will never forget the lessons of the Holocaust."
Ald. Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth (48) posted "We're so excited for the new Red Line Stations at Bryn Mawr, Berwyn, Argyle, and Lawrence to open this Summer! The new stations will be fully ADA accessible to better serve our neighbors. It's no secret that ongoing construction poses challenges for nearby businesses."
