Ald. There will be light refreshments, information about the health center, great conversation, and getting to know those in the community.”
Ald. Nicole Lee (11) said on Facebook “City of Chicago's Point-in-Time Homeless Count is one week away! The PIT Count is Chicago's annual count and survey of people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January, mandated by HUD and locally led by DFSS. The PIT is one way that DFSS and HUD develop a snapshot of the population experiencing homelessness in Chicago. By doing this each year, we are able to collect valuable data that demonstrates the City’s continued need for funding of homeless services, informs service and resource planning for the year, and raises public awareness about homelessness in our city.”
