Ald. George Cardenas (12) tweeted that the omicron COVID variant “Sounds a lot like influenza.”

Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa (35) tweeted a thread of legislative accomplishments from 2021, including civilian police oversight and immigrant protections.

Ald. Andre Vasquez (40) tweeted in response to Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara contracting COVID-19: “Look at that. He was out protesting against Vax Mandates at City Hall while being vaccinated himself. I hope he rests and heals up, thanks to being vaccinated. Other FOP members should see his example and get vaccinated too, if they haven’t already.”

Ald. Matt Martin (47) wrote in his latest newsletter, “features historic new investments in these areas, as well as passage of legislation I introduced to expand the Small Business Improvement Fund to better support hotels and taverns. And because implementation of these programs is key, the City Council established a new subcommittee whose primary responsibility will be ensuring that these critical funds are being disbursed in a timely, effective, and transparent manner.”
