Ald. Maria Hadden (49) tweeted about WNBA star Brittney Griner’s release saying “To be a Black woman in this country too often means being unprotected and devalued. To be queer adds a layer of vulnerability. To be all of those things and not know if your country will fight for you must have been horrific. Welcome home Brittney. We never gave up on you.”

Ald. Mike Rodriguez (22) tweeted “Yanira Merino President of @LCLAA stated: “…on Latina Equal Pay Day, December 8th, it is vital that we disrupt the cycle that continues to marginalize Latinas so that we can ensure economic security is no longer a fantasy.” Thank you for your words; we stand with you hermana!”

Ald. Debra Silverstein (50) tweeted “I greatly enjoyed meeting with the principals of the public schools in the 50th Ward this week! Our neighborhood has some of the best schools in the City of Chicago, and these principals are deeply committed to their students.”
