Ward Reports August 02, 2021

Ald. Daniel La Spata (1) tweeted information about “Hire Chicago,” billed as a “one-of-a-kind 5 week hybrid hiring event.”

Ald. Raymond Lopez (15) shared a screenshot of a Tribune headline and wrote “Last Monday Lightfoot said if we hit 200+ daily cases, restrictions were to follow. Then she goes silent for 2 days knowing we hit her arbitrary mark on Fri - protecting Spreadapalooza perhaps? Her recklessness arrogance continues to be dangerous to the public’s health & safety!”

Ald. Silvana Tabares (23) in her latest newsletter shared information about an “input session for 59th & Central Park Menu project” scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 23.

Ald. Rossana Rodriguez-Sanchez (33) tweeted “Having #Lollapalooza2021 in Chicago was a reckless decision. It was a huge overconfident leap that shouldn’t have happened at all. I hope it doesn’t end in tragedy but I’m already hearing from nurse friends around the country talking about ICU’s starting to fill up. This is bad.

Ald. Matt Martin (47) in his latest newsletter wrote that last week he “met with several of [his] colleagues and senior officials from City Hall to discuss an ordinance [he] recently introduced that proposes to make walk-up windows easier for certain food establishments to utilize.”

Ald. Maria Hadden (49) shared an article from the Sun-Times about the MAT asphalt plant in McKinley Park and wrote “The community keeps raising these concerns. Too bad only a few members of Council listened before approving affordable housing to be built next to it, putting more people in harms way.”
