Ward Reports April 21, 2022

Ald. Daniel La Spata (1) tweeted, Today, my office joined researchers from the @lincolnparkzoo to survey our ward's rattiest alleys. I'm excited to work together as they trap rats throughout the city, including in the 1st Ward, to monitor for diseases and study effective rat-reduction measures!

Ald. George Cardenas (12) tweeted, “I’m seeing some back and forth on this [Back of the Yards Harvest Food Group] Development. It’s in the 12th ward. My community supports it. Businesses support it. Those who oppose it, do it out of political gain.

Ald. Raymond Lopez (15) tweeted, “Aside from accounting for 25% of the budget revenue, thousands of real jobs depend on the convention, tourism, hotel, restaurant and aviation industries. We must never take them for granted. I will fight to change the narrative and make our city safe & welcoming once more!”

Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa (35) tweeted, “It is deeply upsetting that CPS is refusing to use federal relief dollars to avoid budget cuts. CPS' budget cuts will eliminate needed educational programs and harm our kids. I join with CPS parents, teachers and students in demanding that CPS #FreeTheFunds!”

Ald. Maria Hadden (49) tweeted, “After surveying our community–a survey with more responses than any previous development survey–and listening to our community's concerns, we were unable to reach a solution with DLG Management.”
