Aldermen have introduced hundreds of resolutions and ordinances that have languished in committee this term. Some may see new life as aldermen seek to burnish their records as they run for re-election. Others may stay buried for similar reasons until the new term in May 2019 wipes the slate clean. The Daily Line has combed through notable introductions dating back to the spring of 2017 and found dozens still pending, including major pushes for police oversight, changes to scheduling practices for workers, and conditions and staffing at Chicago Public Schools.
