    Beginning in January, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will begin seeking proposals from private developers to build the South Suburban Airport in Peotone after decades of conversations on a third Chicago airport.  

    Supporters of the airport believe there is sufficient interest in both building and using the planned cargo-oriented airport.
