• As public schools open in Illinois, school districts are facing separate challenges, from busing to substitute teachers.


    During its monthly board meeting Wednesday, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) surveyed three public school districts in the state to get a realistic picture of the challenges of reopening amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The differences reflected not just the population of the school districts, but how much the pandemic is taken seriously by parents.
