• Attorney General Lisa Madigan and the two candidates vying to replace her all condemned the Trump administration policy of separating parents seeking asylum in the United States from their children, although Republican nominee Erika Harold followed Gov. Bruce Rauner’s lead and did not criticize the president by name, while Rauner reversed his plan to send Illinois National Guard Troops to the southern border. Meanwhile, Rauner friend-turned-foe Dan Proft’s PAC reported a big contribution from packing goods magnate Dick Uihlein.
