The governor’s budget office is anticipating the fiscal year 2026 budget will be more than $200 million out of balance, due largely to changes in federal tax law included in the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”   

The report also anticipates a $2.2 billion deficit in the upcoming fiscal year.
