    Mayor issues executive order to create stricter procurement standards for firearms contractors

    Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order (2026-4) Wednesday that strengthens the procurement standards for firearms, accessories and ammunition to address concern about law enforcement purchasing weapons from dealers that violate federal regulations.
