The City Council Joint Committee on Immigrant and Refugee Rights and Committee on Police and Fire on Tuesday approved an ordinance to enable the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) to formally investigate alleged violations of Chicago’s Welcoming City Ordinance by police.
