Alderpeople on Thursday advanced the appointment of a new commissioner to lead the Chicago Commission on Human Relations.

Acting Comm. Kenneth Gunn was overwhelmingly approved by the Committee on Health and Human Relations, sending his final confirmation to the City Council next week.
