The Metropolitan Planning Council on Sept. 21 will honor this year’s Champion Fighter awardees — Helene Gayle and The Chicago Community Trust for their “commitments to closing the racial and ethnic wealth gap in the Chicago region,” according to a news release. The in-person event is set for 5 p.m. at Morgan Manufacturing, 401 N. Morgan St. and event capacity is limited to event sponsors. Others can attend the event virtually via a livestream on the Metropolitan Planning Council’s website.
