CTA officials on Friday announced they would begin offering incentives to attract new employees and retrain existing workers. The transit authority is offering a $1,000 hiring bonus for new bus operators, bus mechanics and rail car repairers; a retention incentive for eligible employees; and an increased starting pay rate for bus operators, rail operators, mechanics and car repairers.
