The Cook County Commission on Human Rights announced its annual impending minimum wage increase Thursday. Effective July 1, the county's minimum wage will rise to $14.05 an hour for non-tipped workers but will remain $8.40 an hour for tipped employees. The county used a 2.5 percent wage hike since the April Consumer Price Index exceeded the cap.
