Chicago Announcements May 28, 2024

Rev. Ira Acree, the West Side pastor nominated to serve on the Regional Transportation Authority board by Mayor Brandon Johnson, has withdrawn his name from the running after a final vote on his confirmation was delayed by the administration last week, according to multiple outlets. Acree lacked professional transit experience and seemed unaware of key issues during his transportation committee hearing but was approved by the committee anyways.
