City leaders and local developers broke ground Wednesday on the mixed-use Bronzeville Lakefront development that will be built on the former Michael Reese Hospital site. The Bronzeville Lakefront development is expected to bring with it 20,000 temporary and permanent jobs. The $3.8 billion mixed-use development will be built in phases and is expected to be completed in 2035.
