Chicago Announcements March 27, 2024

The Chicago Board of Elections announced Tuesday that candidates interested in running for the elected Chicago School Board were allowed to start circling nominating petitions. The window to gather signatures will last until June 24, which will be the final day of the filing period beginning June 17. Candidates must gather between 1,000 to 3,000 signatures from registered voters in the district they are running in. Ten districts are up for election this November under a hybrid plan approved earlier this month, and all 20 seats will be up for election in 2026. More information for candidates can be found here.
