Mayor Brandon Johnson announced the appointment of Clinée Hedspeth as commissioner of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events on Monday. Hedspeth, who served as a legislative director during Johnson's time as a Cook County commissioner, will come to the job after having just served as an associate specialist of 20th century and contemporary art for Phillips Auctioneers. Hedspeth also served as director of curatorial services at the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center.
