On his first day as interim superintendent of the Chicago Police Department, Eric Carter on Thursday today announced two command staff promotions. Commander Kevin Bruno was promoted to deputy chief of the Bureau of Detectives, and Lieutenant Lewis Courts was promoted to commander of the 7th (Englewood) District, according to a news release from the police department.
