On Tuesday Mayor Brandon Johnson and the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services announced application portal was open for the One Summer Chicago program, which will aim to connect 28,000 youth to "paid opportunities and life-skills development programs" this summer. The city said 24,300 young people were hired through the program in its launch year in 2023. The youth hired work 15-20 hours per week for a six-week period.
