Cook County announced a new program called that Starting Block Grant initiative, which will help provide capacity building resources and support to nonprofitss that serve county residents, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle's office said in a news release. The program is different from a traditional grant program because it is aimed at helping organizations strengthen their operations, not just deliver existing services, the president's office said. The county plans to award up to $5 million in Starting Block Grants in 2023.
