Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas announced in a news release Tuesday more than $22 million in automatic refunds that would be sent to more than 10,000 property owners who overpaid their property taxes last year. Recipients will receive the refunds via direct deposit or by mail by Aug. 9. Taxpayers can visit cookcountytreasurer.com to see if they will receive an automatic refund.
