Mayor Brandon Johnson and the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection on Monday announced that the Women’s Business Development Center had been selected as the organization that will oversee the Chicago Supplier Development Program. The organization will "work with the City to design, organize, and execute capacity building programs and provide community based outreach to small businesses interested in contracting with the contracting with the City of Chicago" as well as help subcontractors become prime contractors, according to the mayor's office.
