The City Council Committee on Police and Fire did not hold its scheduled meeting Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. after too few alderpeople attended the meeting virtually instead of in person, meaning there was a lack of quorum to start the meeting. The meeting will be rescheduled, chairperson Ald. Chris Taliaferro (29) said.

Mayor Brandon Johnson will join the 24th annual Polar Plunge this Sunday, March 3. The annual event, expected to draw 5,000 people this year, raises money for Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children’s Charities. Last year's plunge raised more than $2.1 million, according to a city news release.
