Chicago Announcements December 22, 2022
The Chicago Department of Transportation announced Wednesday that the city has given away more than 500 bikes to Chicagoans during the first year of the “Bike Chicago” program. The program is funded through the city’s Chicago Recovery Plan and aims to give away 5,000 bikes, helmets and lights to qualified Chicagoans over a five-year span as a way to promote affordable and “climate-friendly mobility options,” according to a news release from the Department of Transportation.
