A day after his appointment to the Police Board was approved by the City Council Committee on Police and Fire, Kyle Cooper became Chicago Police Board president after his confirmation by the City Council. Mayor Brandon Johnson designated Cooper president of the Board following council's approval of his appointment. Cooper will succeed Ghian Foreman, who joined the Board in 2010 and began serving as president in 2018.
