Former Chicago Department of Transportation Comm. Gia Biagi was tapped to become the next Illinois Secretary of Transportation, Gov. JB Pritzker announced Tuesday. “As my administration continues our ambitious goals to revitalize transportation across the state, I’m excited to appoint Gia Biagi as the next leader of IDOT,” Pritzker said in a news release. “Her expansive portfolio and unique leadership experience will undoubtedly propel IDOT’s mission forward and strengthen Illinois’ infrastructure efforts.” Biagi will succeed outgoing Sec. Omer Osman, who is retiring.
