The Cook County Board of Review announced Thursday the appointment of Timnetra Burruss as chief deputy commissioner, which is the agency’s highest-ranking employee position. According to a news release, Burruss is an attorney who has worked on "thousands" of tax assessment and valuation appeals cases, has a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law and a Master of Laws from the University of Illinois Chicago John Marshall School of Law. Burruss serves on the board for Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), has served as a "leader" for the American Bar Association's Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section and is a member of the Black Women Lawyers’ Association.
