Chicago Announcements December 06, 2023
Mayor Brandon Johnson and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) announced a slate of Neighborhood Access Program grantees Tuesday. The program will award $1 million to 27 organizations and artists to support community-based programming in neighborhoods citywide, with 89 percent of the grantees being located on the South and West sides. The programs are intended to be tailored to respond to specific needs in the communities being served. "Thanks to an unprecedented level of public funding in 2023, DCASE has worked to increase support for the cultural community with such programs. This expanded investment ensures that artists and cultural organizations can present projects and activities in their neighborhoods,” DCASE Comm. Erin Harkey said in a news release.
