The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) is holding a series of events to mark International Overdose Awareness Day on Thursday. The events include an International Overdose Awareness Day event held by the West Side Heroin/Opioid Task Force at 11 a.m. Thursday near the corner of Lake and Laramie, and resource tables hosted by the South Side Heroin/Opioid Task Force scheduled for 10 a.m. at 2950 S. California Ave. and 2650 S. California Ave. Additionally, the city's skyline will light up in purple to recognize the addiction recovery movement, according to a CDPH news release.
