Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson on Thursday announced the members of his transition committee and its 11 subcommittees. The 15 transition committee members are Kennedy Bartley with the People’s Unity Platform; Jitu Brown of Journey For Justice Alliance; Martin Cabrera of Cabrera Capital Markets; Jim Connolly with the Chicago Laborers’ District Council; Brendan Deenihan, former chief of detectives for the Chicago Police Department; Juan González of the Great Cities Institute; Rev. Dr. Marshall Hatch, Sr. of New Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church; Michelle Morales with Woods Fund Chicago; Dian Palmer with SEIU Local 73; Richard S. Price, executive chairman of Mesirow; U.S. Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-Illinois); Dr. Barbara Ransby, John D. MacArthur University Chair and LAS Distinguished Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago; Charles Smith of CS Insurance Strategies; Margaret Stender, founding CEO of The Chicago Sky; and Emma Tai with United Working Families.

The transition subcommittee subject areas are: Economic Vitality & Equity; Immigration; Workers Rights and Labor; Public Safety; Housing; Education & Youth; Human Rights, Equity, & Inclusion; Environmental Justice; Arts & Culture; Transportation; and Health & Human Services.
