Ald. Brian Hopkins (2) in his latest newsletter included a photo of himself at the groundbreaking for the Webster Avenue Bridge rehabilitation project. “The Chicago Department of Transportation's commitment to this preservation will assist in the future growth of the area surrounding the river's North Branch,” Hopkins wrote.  

Ald. Raymond Lopez (15) retweeted a statement from Mayor Lori Lightfoot about a shooting that left a 7-year-old girl dead and her 6-year-old sister wounded and wrote “’Gangs’ & ‘declare war on these killers’ - Lightfoot needs to sit down before she hurts herself. She NEVER uttered the word gangs until last week. She has worked w/ them time & time again, and is only now realizing they are monsters she can’t control. Too late.” 

Ald. Gilbert Villegas (36) shared a WTTW article about the city’s finances and tweeted, “The council, Budget Committee, should be meeting weekly to discuss how we are going to deal with this budget gap as well as future gaps.” 

Ald. Matt Martin (47) shared a CNN article about the cost of childcare and tweeted, “We've known that we've had a child care crisis for decades. The pandemic has made it even more clear. We know what the solutions are. Now, let's make them happen.” 

Ald. Harry Osterman (48) in his latest newsletter wrote that beginning Friday, Foster Avenue is set to be closed between Broadway and Winthrop Avenue to allow for demolition of a viaduct. Closure of the road and sidewalks is expected to last through Monday.
