Ald. Susan Sadlowski Garza (10) in a Twitter thread wrote “Construction of a pedestrian bridge at 43rd Street will shut down a portion of the Metra Electric Line this weekend, Sept. 18-19, requiring some late night and early morning Metra and South Shore trains to be canceled or replaced with free CTA shuttles between the 51st Street and Millennium stations.” 

Ald. Rossana Rodriguez-Sanchez (33) tweeted “It’s so sad that the default response to violence is punishment and more violence instead of addressing root causes and investing in healing. Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa (35) shared a CBS story about his proposal calling for hearings on the reliability of ShotSpotter and tweeted “A recent study, a recent report, and recent court case have raised major red flags about the efficacy of ShotSpotter gunshot surveillance technology. Our Chicago City Council has a responsibility to assess the effectiveness and efficacy of this technology.” 

Ald. Gilbert Villegas (36) tweeted “National Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins each year on Sep. 15, celebrates U.S. Latinos, their culture and their history. The U.S. population grew by 22.7 million from 2010 to 2020, and Hispanics accounted for 51% of this increase, a greater share than any other racial group”
