Ward Reports march 29, 2022

Ald. Matt O’Shea (19) tweeted “The annual Clean & Green Day of Service will be held citywide on Saturday, April 23rd. If any organizations in the 19th Ward would like to beautify an area in the community, please contact my office.”

Ald. Rossana Rodriguez-Sanchez (33) tweeted “I just got a disturbing update from IBEW Local 1220 @Window2workers. Instead of coming to the table to negotiate in good faith the admin at @wttw has sent the workers COBRA letters. This is a slap in the face to these workers fighting to protect jobs and the quality of work”

Ald. Carlos Ramirez-Rosa (35) tweeted “Chicago City Council meets today to vote on the appointment of Nicole Lee as 11th Ward Alderperson. Lee will be the first American of East Asian descent and the 55th woman to represent a Chicago ward in the city's 189 years.”

Ald. Tom Tunney (44) tweeted “Congratulations to Nicole Lee on making history with her appointment as the first Asian American Alderwoman in Chicago history. I was proud to support her appointment and I know she will represent the 11th Ward well.”

Ald. Harry Osterman (48) tweeted “Yesterday, I committed to co-sponsor @BringChiHome

and support this solution that would create a dedicated revenue stream to support unhoused people, including children, veterans, and survivors of gender-based violence.

Ald. Maria Hadden (49) tweeted “A judge granted a motion for the consent decree to include oversight of the CPD's search warrant policies. While this is a step in the right direction, we still need to pass the Anjanette Young Ordinance to mitigate wrongful raids and end no-knock warrants”

Ald. Debra Silverstein (50) tweeted “Very pleased to vote to confirm Nicole Lee as the new Alderwoman of the 11th Ward, and Chicago’s first Asian American woman to serve on the City Council. We need a council that is reflective of the diversity and strength of this city. This is a solid step in the right direction.”
