Byron Sigcho-Lopez (25) tweeted “Another draconian performative measure by @chicagosmayor - are we going to see another 800 homicides before Lightfoot starts addressing the root causes of violence? Why do we still not have any civilian oversight of CPD? We passed ECPS bill last year. We reject this proposal.”

Ald. Tom Tunney (44) in his latest newsletter wrote “New public safety window signs are available for businesses and residents at my ward office. These signs, pictured below, are a way to show that you are watching out for the neighborhood and willing to call our 19th District Police for suspicious activity. Reporting suspicious behavior has recently led to several arrests in connection to robberies and carjackings here in Lakeview.”
