Cook County Comm. Peter Silvestri (R-9) announced in a news release that he will not seek reelection this year, ending his tenure on the county Board of Commissioners at 28 years. ““It has been an extremely rewarding experience to work with the President and members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners and the many talented and dedicated administrators and employees of Cook County,” Silvestri wrote.
Ald. Raymond Lopez (15) tweeted a copy of a letter he wrote to Ald. Michelle Harris (8) explaining why he thinks the City Council Committee on Committees and Rules should meet in person to discuss the city ward remap and wrote “@AldermanHarris asked for a letter why we should meet in person.
