Ward Reports August 25 2023

Mayor Brandon Johnson tweeted "100 days of service. 100 days of community building. 100 days of working to create fair wages, expanding mental health resources, providing assistance to seniors and disabled communities, bringing relief to victims of climate change, and addressing the crisis of the unhoused."

Ald. Daniel La Spata (1) tweeted "I am disappointed in the decision to cancel the Logan Square Farmers Market (LSFM) this Sunday, and I hope the decision is reversed. This event is incredibly popular among neighbors, and an economic necessity to the vendors who participate. I support short and long-term permitting solutions that right-size LSFM and its public footprint, and I will continue to work with our 14th District police and City departments on these efforts. Our City had a short term plan ready, and I am confident we will find a long-term one"

Comm. Anthony Quezada (D-8) tweeted "Congratulations to @ChicagosMayor on your first 100 days in office! Under Mayor Johnson’s leadership, Chicago is finally moving forward with policies that invests in our working families and our neighborhoods. Let’s get it done!"

Ald. Raymond Lopez (15) tweeted "Chuy refuses to call for @SecMayorkas to expedite merit hearings to determine the legitimacy of migrant asylum requests. He ignores the Mexican undocumented & DACA eligible persons already here who are now being pushed back by those who may not qualify for asylum per the law!"
