The Illinois Municipal League on Monday asked Gov. JB Pritzker to submit a request to the Federal Emergency Management Agency to activate the a loan program for municipalities hit by disasters and suffer from major revenue losses in the wake of immediate hits to consumer spending and tax revenues during Illinois’ response to the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

As health officials reported that 12 more people tested positive for Coronavirus on Monday, Gov. JB Pritzker banned public and private gatherings of more than 50 people, which will temporarily shutter gyms, bowling alleys, clubs and movie theaters beginning Wednesday.
Illinois has now documented 105 cases of the virus also known as Covid-19.
