The Illinois Senate on Thursday approved measures to expand medication abortion protections, raise the age at which seniors must undergo behind-the-wheel tests and require minors' names to be omitted from eviction paperwork.

The Illinois House of Representatives Wednesday approved measures to require school buses to have a three-point seatbelt, provide paid break time for nursing mothers and clarify that Illinois eviction law does not prevent the removal of squatters from a property. 

The Senate Executive Committee approved bills Wednesday to require public universities to offer medication abortion and allow Cook County public defenders to continue representing noncitizens moved to a different jurisdiction.
