    Proposed lakefront towers set for approval on site of defunct Chicago Spire

    City planning officials are scheduled Thursday to approve a $1 billion plan to build a pair of residential towers on the site of the ill-fated Chicago Spire proposal at the junction of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan.
