Mueze Bawany is a progressive educator running for alderman in the 50^th Ward. Bawany is currently the chair of the Chicago Teachers Union’s Housing committee and has worked as a public school teacher himself, as well as a CTU organizer and bargaining team member. Bawany is the son of a Pakistani taxi driver and grew up in West Ridge. He attended Northeastern Illinois University.
